10th Legion IV - Jess Liaudin to defend his World Championship Belt!

10th Legion IV 22nd May at the NEC as part of the www.themartialartsshow.com

Jess Liaudin

Bio:

Originally a judo & karate fighter whilst growing up in France, Jess Liaudin has spent 20 years travelling the world developing his various martial arts skills. Initially moving to the USA saw him win the South East USA Kickboxing Championships as long ago as 1993; then it was off to Japan & Brazil and numerous competitive titles won in: Sambo, Knock Down Sport Budo, Jiu-Jitsu/Grappling and Shootboxing.

Since 2000, Jess has pursed his professional MMA career and is now a veteran of a 26 fight career spanning 10 years with a 15-11 record. His early record reads like a who's who of the emerging British national scene, with war after war against the likes of: Paul Daley, Paul Taylor, Abdul Mohammed, Matt Ewin, Lee Doski, Paul Jenkins & Ross Mason.

The nature of Jess's stylish heelhook submission victory over Mason at Cage Rage 19 in 2006, catapulted Jess to the global stage and 5-fights contracted to the UFC. With back-to-back victories over Dennis Siver & Anthony Torres, a 2-0 Jess stepped up to his highest level thus far when he was matched against the highly touted Marcus Davis at UFC 80.

Unfortunately a poorly prepared Jess suffered the only knockout loss of his career at Davis's hands. The next few months saw him work hard to regain his place in the UFC pecking order, however a split decision points defeat by Paul Taylor sent him down to Lightweight, only for him to break ribs in the 1st round of another points defeat by David Bielkheden.

2009, saw a return to training hard and traveling the world to work his way back in to the scene. Jess was very proud to fight for the 10th Legion Fighting Championship World Title on their very first promotion, defeating highly rated domestic prospect Pete Irving in a 1st round TKO demolition to take the belt.

Jess subsequently travelled to Paris and defeated Lee Doski at a Pancrase rules event, and more recently travelled to China to match against a muay thai MMA fighter with a huge local reputation, Bernueng Sakhomsin producing a stunning 2nd minute armbar victory in a totally one-sided affair.

Jess looks forward to 2010 and the prospect of defending his 10th Legion World Title, whilst continuing his global quest to fight highly ranked international opponents and maybe a return to the biggest stage of all, the UFC octagon.
